Do named 2014 IEEE Fellow

02/19/2014 - 10:49   ADSC and ECE Associate Professor Minh N. Do has been announced as an IEEE Fellow for 2014. Do was recognized for his contributions to image representation and computational imaging. In addition to his position as an associate professor of ECE, Do has a full-time appointment with the Coordinated Science Lab, a part-time appointment with the Beckman Institute, and an affiliate associate professorship with the Department of Bioengineering.

On top of that, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that as much as 30 percent of consumed energy is being wasted due to factors such as idle computers, heating or cooling empty rooms or leaving lights on.

Jones is replacing Marianne Winslett, an Illinois professor of computer science, who will step down from her role and return to Illinois full-time as of June 30, 2013.
