Viet-Anh Nguyen is a postdoctoral fellow at ADSC. He received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2004 and 2010, respectively. He joined the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, NTU as a Research Engineer and then a Research Fellow from May 2008 to July 2010. His research interests cover a variety of different topics, including video coding standardization, 3D media representation and delivery, multimedia systems and applications, computer vision, and low bit rate visual descriptor. He has published more than 20 research papers in video processing and communication venues including TCSVT, ACM MM, and Journal on Image and Video Processing.

Research Interests:

Image and video processing, video coding standardization, 2D/3D media representation/compression and delivery, interactive multimedia systems/applications, computer vision, and low bit rate visual descriptor.

Research and development for advanced video representation, coding, and delivery techniques of 3-D media for real-time applications. Innovate and develop a low-cost, real-time, multi-way, interactive, tele-immersive visual communication system (Online Demo). Program manager of the Integrated Virtual Meeting project for immersive and interactive video conferencing solutions. Engage in the commercialization activities of the developed technologies. Innovated advanced video signal processing algorithms for mobile applications. Researched and developed media delivery to mass mobile users over wireless network: coding/transcoding, adaptation, pervasive media access, context-aware media filtering and rendering.
