William H. Sanders, a Donald Biggar Willett Professor of Engineering, has been named interim head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He begins his appointment effective immediately.
The average office building in the U.S. spends nearly 29 percent of its operating budget on utilities, according to MGE Energy in Wisconsin. The University of Illinois has named Professor Doug Jones as the new director of the Advanced Digital Sciences Center in Singapore. Jones is replacing Marianne Winslett, an Illinois professor of computer science, who will step down from her role and return to Illinois full-time as of June 30, 2013.
Donna Foley has been named managing director for the Advanced Digital Sciences Center in Singapore. Foley will work out of the Coordinated Science Laboratory on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus.
